Another keel damage thread

Looks like its been bumping the front crossmember for some time now. Just brought her home for the year and saw it was this bad. From what could tell the glass was bone dry the night she came home. Would i be safe just puttying it up with marine tex and a keelshield?

You can kinda see the scuffs on the front crossmember and the axle (yeah i think i was way too deep...still learning)

looks similar to how mine looked. i used gel paste and smoothed it on. looked good as new when i was done. still looked good this fall when i pulled it back out for the winter

I agree with using GelPaste (just mix some cabosil with your gelcoat until it's like mayonaise) 2 hours and you can start sanding and buffing.:)

I fixed the exact same damage with MarineTex and sanded it down. Looks really surprisingly decent. I bought a keelshield also but haven't installed it yet.
