Thanks. Had champions before could not find them around here.

Right now only in freshwater. Get things straightened out wanna hit inland new here.
Was curious if blown head gasket could be at root of #4 heating up so much than others. Gonna pull exhaust cover and see if debris is issue. If not...will go into head.
Do buzzers fail?
Will check compressing as well.

Anything can fail if not maintained. When I got my boat w/120 hp force on it. It didn’t have a buzzer; I ended up putting an after market buzzer and a warning light on it for good measure and the whole wiring was a mess, blown head gasket and everything else had to be gone through because when you notice a pattern of neglect you tend to wanna get the thing to a reasonable point of reliability, but anyway I’d pull the thermo cover and see what’s up first then move on to the exhaust/water jacket and or head gasket. But I’d also make sure the fuel mix screws were adjusted correctly on both carbs. Did you check compression? Get NGK plugs-they are great

Ok got stuff pull. Got excited and for the compression check. Will do when reassemble.
Will send these in short post.

Front of head where I believe water circulates underneath cover. Very clean no debris.

Other side of head facing block. Looks good. No breaks, tears, holes in gasket. In fact, the gasket all but fell out when head removed. Hmmm

The head was most likely not torqued down correctly.

Seemed awful easy to get off compared to other things I've worked on. And no damage to gasket...falling out really shocked me.
Yes....i can see dark fluid on the gasket ring just above where the wet bolts was.20210912_184305.jpg

You’ll need a gasket or you may be able to re use the old (I wouldn’t). These engines are easy to work on, parts are getting scared but still out there for the most part. Fuel mixture screws are very important though805C20D0-B146-41D2-A032-0E55835D8D7A.jpeg

Wow thanks Puffitu. That's a huge help. Any idea where to shop online?
Depending on the engine I’m working on; I typically go to marine engine dot com, dial in to the model then go through their diagrams and part numbers then either buy from them or eBay-depends on $$
