Re: Another 12' Sears Gamefisher Restore

Froggerman, I just bought my 12' gamefisher last night for $50. I found your post and was inspired to restore her. I dont have any experiance with fiberglass, can you point me in the right direction to source it for the repairs? Also I'm not quite sure what type I should use. I plan on giving the bottom a good coat. There are no holes, but she creaks like an old lady, and I'm afraid my fat *** is gonna step right through the bottom. heres a pic of my new baby, and Ill start a new thread for the progress.

Sweet Fatso, Heck of a name there by the way LOL.
I love too see these boats and what people do with them.
Well I did alot of reading in these forums and asking my own questions. There are alot of great ideas and answers here.
I just bought Resin and Fiberglass cloth from Lowes and went too town on the bottom. I too probably went a little overboard and it does add weight too the boat but I wanted too insure It was strong aswell.
The guy that we got our boat from. Said he had it setup like how im doing it and he even had 3 Marine batteries on the back bottom and he sat fine in the water. So im not too worried now.
I have moved my battery too underneath the front platform and Gas tank in back with me. That way the weight would be more balanced.
Good luck and its great when you progress along.
Cant wait too see your post and updated pics of your progress.
I got alot done today on mine.
Pics will follow.

Mounted the Rubber Trim guard for Carpet need too wait for it too dry and stick good.

Nice job!

Maybe I missed it (just did a quick scan over the postings) but where/what did you get for carpet? Is that the "no hook/snagproof" stuff?

Sat Great in the water and really stable. Worked great. At end of a few hours though we pulled the drain plug before emptying the livewell and had a good amount of water in bottom. After quite a few tests we found that the 2 plugs in the bottom of the livewell dont work well and leaked water out of it slowly.
Im on my way too get better plugs. Over all Happy Fisherman.
Glad this project is done.

Well my son and i decided we wanted a little bit bigger boat, so decided to sell the restored Teeter.
We had $1200.00 invested in the restore and sold it for $2000.00.
We searched and searched on Craigslist and got lucky and found a 15 ft Sprint Bassboat. We found it for $2500.00 It has a 48 hp on the back.
We love it here are a few pics of our new old boat.
