Hi picked up a new to me 2007 Angler 204FX y'day. I'm new to power boats after many years sailing.

Return to the marina, tilt up the engine to raise the prop out of the water, the cowl presses against the back seat which I forgot to lower. Cracked the cowl ugh whats that $1500 or so (or live with it).

Clearly tilting the engine w/o keeping an eye on it is my bad, but could this design be improved? The outboard seems to be a period Yamaha F150.

welcome aboard

cowling repair can be done at any body shop for a reasonable price.

Thanks Scott - excuse my newbie question but is it wise to remove the cowling with the boat in the water or get it on the hard first? I'm hoping I can leave it in for the rest of the season as I've just launced it :)

up to you.

if it was me, I would wrap silver duct tape over the crack and worry about it later
