Some boats don't need them. So, take your boat out and try it. If the boat lists to one side or the other, you might need to move the weight around the boat (1st). If you have problems getting up on plane, or the boat porpoises, then tabs can help.

Bennett have been around for a very long time. Some of their models have fins on the tabs, which help keep the boat straight when trolling . Like any hydraulic system, you will need space in the boat for the pump/reservoir.

Trim tabs are sold based on their width. My 24'er has 10" wide models. You need to measure how much space you have on your transom.

On smaller boats, people have success with Doel-fin added to their outboards. There are other brands around.
