A 1990 Bayliner Capri is a pretty cool boat. They just were built like trash, and now 30+ years gone by and unless it's been correctly restored, they are about worthless and will be rotted.. Bayliner built that hull for about 10 years with only minor changes... They are nicknamed Bayliner Crappy for a reason.

A couple years ago, I almost bought a 1986 OMC powered Capri that I knew needed restoration, repowered to Mercruiser among other things before it could even be used. Simply because I like the way they look.

find a different boat. that boat isnt worth $7250

its not worth $2075

its worth less than $2 if its perfect, however I guarantee that unless it has been restored, it will need a restoration.

this. and i'm a bayliner fan but they are what they are.

don't fall in love with a boat, fall in love with boating.

Short answer : no, not a good deal.

Another case of an owner that's out of touch, or possibly, an unwilling victim of a wife telling him to get rid of his boat. He lists it for sale at a stupid price hoping it will never sell, and the wife is satisfied as he's "trying" to sell it.

For $8k, you can get a decent boat that was made in this century.

Many boat sellers have an unrealistic view of what their boat is worth, often, they are trying to re-coup the investment they’ve made with major repairs or upgrades.

It hardly ever works out, because why would someone pay $8K for something they can get for $3K :noidea:

Those types of sellers don’t realize they are competing with other sellers. They think they are competing with potential buyers.

got my 92 capri for nothing, I only bought the trailer for a few hundred bucks, knowing they were poorly built. I knew it would need new stringers a new transom a new floor, and when i opened it up, the transom fell apart in my hands. now with about 50 hrs in the boat it's gutted and almost ready for the new transom and stringers to be glassed in, I wouldn't certainly wouldn't have paid for it or even gotten a capri if you're not prepared to completely restore it.you can get a much better boat for that price. that boat isn't worth anything more than $1000 without complete restoration.
