Alpha one gen one Y plate is it adjustable?

Is this plate adjustable? The switch doesn’t seem to go into the slot in forward.

It isn't really adjustable, but a corroded/sticky pivot bolt can keep the plate from moving freely. The return spring can also have the wrong tension, which may make the plate harder/easier to move in one or both directions

Do you understand the switch operation?
It only operates coming out of gear ,in the water with a load on the prop.
