Alpha One Gen 1 Outdrive Gasket

Hello,
I have an 1985 Mercruiser 3.0 with Alpha One Gen 1 drive. I am wondering if i am supposed to use item number 14 (outdrive gasket). I am pretty sure that it didnt have that when i took it apart but not 100%. Thanks.

Absolutely. Thats a big rubber ring that gets glued into the bellhousing against the ledge. The snout of the outdrive seals against it.

Ok thanks, i am guessing bellow adhesive is the glue of choice for this gasket?

I know i didnt pull one out of there, maybe last owner didnt glue it.. Anyways thanks again.

Bellows cement is correct.

is glue just to hold in place until assembled? never glued one in the 10? outdrives i taken on and off and always in same place when i remove. I agree with glueing the water pick up o-ring.
