Alpha one gear ratio

I was recantly told that you can change the gear ratio of sterndrives and was wondering if this is tru. I have a Alpha one, and I am not 100% sure what the factory gear ratio is, but I know it hasnt been changed from its factory setting. From the little time I have had to look in to this it seems that I am prtty close to a reduction of 1/2 the RPM of the moter. Has any one changed the gear ratio of their stern drive, how hard is it and what kind of resaults did you get. I would like to pick up another 5-10 mph And I have already done what I can as far as the prop. Thanks!

Ayuh,... The gear ratio is changed by changing the Upper gear set...
It Ain't gonna get you any faster speeds though....

If you wanna go faster you need more power and/or a different boat.
