Alpha Gen 2 Remote gear lube hose length

I am replacing the gear lube line from the transom to the bell housing.

What is the correct hose length? The one in my bellows kit from Mercruiser measures 9 7/16", but I thought I read somewhere that the hose should be 10" long.
