Alpha drive upper drive yolk oil seal

Please forgive me ,I pulled the oil seal out without making note of how it was in.Does the open face go in towards the bearing. Looking at the book and online drawings I can't tell. MY BAD !
Thanks for any help.

Yes, since that seal is not open to the water it's strictly to keep the oil in. So the lip faces in.
