Went to the boat last night. Right away I could see the plunger was a good bit off center to the V notch. Per manual 14 I verified the lower cable was at the bottom of the slot. Measured the travel of the upper cable per Chris’s video. Measured 3 1/8”, i.e. within specifications. Removed the new interrupt switch. Noted that both old and new switches have screw holes instead of slots, i.e. not adjustable. This confused me because page 1C-45 of the manual references loosening the screws and adjusting it forward or aft. Now I realized this only would adjust the clearance to the notch not whether or not it was centered to the notch but I thought I would try anyway. I compared the new and old switches. They looked the same. Decided to put the old switch on to see what happed. It landed dead center to the V notch! To the ramp I went. Shifted perfect. I can only surmise that I did not look close enough when comparing the switches. The screw holes of the new one must have been off spec or something. I didn’t bother removing the old one to compare again. There were no instructions with the new switch. I assumed it didn’t matter which side of the switch went to the plate. I wonder if it would have worked if I flipped it? Anyway, old switch is working great. Think I’ll stick with it.
