alpha 1 trim will not go up only down

Took boat out today. when i put it in the trim was all the way up. Put boat in the water put trim down and powered off trailer. Went through shallow canal trim went up fine then back down. Put boat back on trailer and now it wont go back up? I dont hear pump make any noise when i push it in the up position. if i let it down it runs? I dont know anything about trim pumps please help.

Is it clicking? You probably have a bad connection or a solenoid that went out. There are flow charts to check the wiring. I do it backwards when I diagnose them. You can do it this way if you wish. Apply 12 volts direct to the motor leads for the pump. One will be green and one blue. It is a reversible motor. All you need to do is touch it for a second on the green and then the blue. If the motor operates in both directions then you know the motor is good. Now work backwards checking the connections to the solenoids. The check power to the solenoids while hitting the trim switch. Again it's probably a bad solenoid but make sure all connections are clean and tight. That's all there is to it. I do it this way to verify the motor is good before wasting time cleaning up connections.
