Would the proper proper kit # be 817257-5 for my 96 Alpha 1 gen2 serial #of530668 ?

If you want to go OEM then the full water pump kit with housing and all the parts, including 1-piece faceplate/gasket is 817275Q05

Or if you're impeller housing & carrier assembly are still in good condition, then water pump kit 47- 43026Q06 will save you some money.

Q stands for Quicksilver, a Mercury registered trademark.

Does 47-43026Q06 include the water tube ? You know this info and many other part#'s would be a good info point in the stickies!

As Don's list shows even the 817275q05 rebuild kit does not include the water tube, guide sleeve or coupling but it does include the 2 o-rings that go inside the coupler. They must consider that outside the scope of a water pump rebuild.

But on the + side you do get the quad ring that goes between the 2 halves and a drain plug fiber washer........

Unless you've already taken the existing water pump apart and know for sure you don't need a new pump housing or carrier assembly, the Q05 kit is the way to go if you're trying to buy parts ahead of time. And you get the 1-piece gasket/faceplate that makes installation a breeze.

My pump is disassembled and the housing and wear plate have no signs of wear at all if kit47-89984TS is applicable that's what I need but being it states for serial #'s OD and below and my drive is in the OF range it's ?ionable! any insight and by the way thanx Don!

A,B, and C are below D, F is considered above the letter D.

You want the impeller kit 47-43026K06 for a Gen II drive. The plate is just an extra, you need the rest of the gaskets.
The 47-89984TS kit you posted is for the Alpha I (Before Gen II) drives. Didn't you notice that parts in the picture looked different?
