have a 2000 5.0 mpi, serial number OL620229. put it in the lake yesterday, turned the key, regular alarm sounded, waited a few seconds, started the engine as normal with no gas and it idled perfect for 5-6 seconds. at that time i heard 2 beeps, motor bogged and shut off. tried cranking again and it tried but would not fire up. tried again and nothing, choked it and nothing, waited 15-20 seconds and cranked up with no choke, then revved it up a couple of times, let it idle for 2-3 minutes and then spent all day (2 hours run time) on the lake with my kids. never a hint of problem. on a side note, implellar, spark plugs and all fluids are brand new (around 5 hours) and engine runs at 180-195 temp at idle or pulling inner tubes. old impellar could almost be sold as brand new. any ideas on the alarm, actually has done this 3 times over 2 year period, one at idle and other while taking a sharp left turn pulling an inner tube
