after market hot horn

Anyone ever add a hot horn.....I dont want to fix the one in my Johnson shifter...just add one under the cowl ?

I bought a simple back-up horn from Auto Zone and just attached under my console after wiring it in to the existing wire from the control box. Works fine for the last five years.
