Re: Aft cabin window leak 1989 Sea Ray 220DA
Well, here's some food for thought. The boats an '89. Playing devils advocate a bit lets assume the window frames have not been re-bedded anytime recently (at least not within the last 8 years or so)? Caulking or bedding compound has a useable life of about 6-8 years then it needs to be re-done. This is the most common and overlooked aspect of older boats (this applies to ALL hardware on the boat; anything mounted with screws or thru-bolted). Stanchions, fuel fills, snaps, cleats, windshield mounts, etc). EVERYTHING to include portlights
I can't tell from this pic where the water in coming in, interior pics would tell us more. Could be the frames (exterior side), could be that the tracks themselves are allowing water to get underneath, could be a matter of plugged drain channels or weep holes like has been suggested. So, in a nut shell, could be a number of things. Only thing to do is a little more investigation and start crossing possibilities off the "could be" list. Some interior pics might help us speed up the process.
Hope this helps!
