Hi.
2007 5.0 GXi Volvo Penta engine.
How to adjust the serpentine belt slack?
Should the screw on the automatic tensioner be tightened clockwise or counterclockwise?
According Seloc manual, tighten in a clockwise direction relieves the belt tension.
On my engine it seems to be on the contrary. Tightening counterclockwise the automatic tensioner is released.
Thanks for clarifying.

There is no adjustment for belt tension. Slack is taken up by the tensioner assembly

Not uncommon for the tensioner to fail ime

Tensioner assembly is mounted to the engine block. There is no adjustment save for releasing the tension to remove the belt using a 3/8" drive ratchet and appropriate socket, like 15mm?
