Additional fuel pump for FT9.9LE outboard?

Hi. I have a 5.5m Deltacraft cruiser with a Yamaha FT9.9LE outboard. It runs fine from a portable tank with about a 4 metre bulb fuel hose. I would like to introduce a water separating fuel filter in the line which would be higher than the motor. Will the outboard suck the fuel ok or do you think I will need an additional pump and if so any recommendations? Bob

Plumb it correctly and the current fuel pump is all that is needed.

If you buy a small filter unit ? It will be low enough. My glass bowl filter is 3" tall. For a 9.9 and a 30 hp motorboat.
