Mission complete.
Came home with a mint, garage-kept 2007 Chaparral 256SSX with a 375hp Volvo Penta 8.1 big block. She really scoots too.
Spent much of the week going over minor details and personalizing it. Added a Garmin chartplotter GPS and need to upgrade the sound system.
Will probably take it out for a shakedown run sometime tomorrow.

Looks good
I installed a new stero system years ago with 200 watt amp and hardley ever turn it on. When we anchor with others they may not want to hear mine music nor me theirs. Forget about it most the time even when we are by ourself, oh well it does sound good when we turn it on

Out of interest AD…what kind of music would a fella like yourself be blasting through that big sound system ? I’m going to take a guess at a bit of country and western or Bruce Springsteen? Funny how you build a picture of a man in your head 😂

Haha. Amazing range there. Partial to C&W myself. And a bit of celion too, being fair.
Brought up on Willie Nelson playing constantly. Likely born and raised in the the wrong country, I’d think !
Anyway…don’t want to hog the fella’s post here. Great to get a bit of insight to a man though ! Allan.

Lake Lanier will be a challenge with that much boat. Be careful, it was packed when I left it 15 years ago.. you can almost walk from boat to boat...

Weekends in the South end are pretty congested.
We try to stay North and above Gainesville Marina.

Had the boat out most of the day Friday. God I love the 496 big block.
What an amazing difference from the 5.7 Mercruiser power I had previously in the 2330.
This thing has tons of power with plenty to spare. Jumps on plane quickly and hits 35mph without breaking a sweat. Hammer-down and it goes right to 55mph. (via Garmin GPS) I think it would go faster but seems like the ECM programming lays it flat around 4600RPM.
I may be spending some money with Raylar this Winter. Would love to see 60-65mph out of this hotrod.
