i didnt get my green card either, but i would probably not pass a similar test for Canada. all i know is we won a war a long time ago, and somehow ended up with the cold half of north america, our current dictator is Jean Claude Poutine......or is it Steve Yzerman?, and we have 23 senators ( 3 goalies and 20 skaters.....but only 20 can sit on the bench on any given night)

Now that is freek'n hilarious.

I got 6 wrong...all the history ones were fine....but I'd love to know (honestly) how many Americans really know how many Congressmen they have :)

We all only have ONE representative to Congress, of course. ;)

But the number 435 should ring a bell, as you see it every 4 years in the Electoral Vote count? Now you know where they get that number, too!

Are the other three healthy scratches, or do they have lower body injuries? :)

Probably not many!

You do mean 538 Electoral votes right? One for every seat in the House(435) + every seat in the Senate(100) + 3 from the District of Columbia.

Yes, with the first 435 being the number of Reps in the House. (How does DC get such special treatment, anyway?

23rd amendment. A little history here: District of Columbia voting rights - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Excerpt:

"In the financial year 2007, D.C. residents and businesses paid $20.4 billion in federal taxes; more than the taxes collected from 19 states and the highest federal taxes per capita."

Bruce, I would never joke about the Constitution being silly. I was making a rhetorical joke. But you felt the need to comment on it, thanks.

So "taxation = representation"? Interesting concept. :)

"Home field advantage . . ."

That's funny right there! ;)

Good one!

(And actually just a few days before this thread, I was trying to name the original 13, and was having trouble with VT or NH.)
