Re: A pet peeve - Amateur upholstery
TS,
Buy and OLD Sewing machine off of CL and sew the covers for your seats. It is NOT that hard and they will look PROFESSIONAL. I had never sewn a lick two months ago and my seats DON't look Amaterish. My sewing machine cost me $35 bucks. I watched You tube videos to learn how to do it. You can too! I used the covers off the old seats for patterns, but you can just as easy free hand it. It is NOT hard to do. Learning how to adjust the machine is kinda tricky but youtube will teach you that. About a day of playing around and you'll have it down pat. I still have to put the Hide-em strip on to hide the staples and they will be complete. Total Cost $35 for the machine $20 for needles and thread, $65 for Vinyl.
Upholsterer wanted $225 per seat X 3 seats. I did all 3 Seats in 18 hours for $120 and learned a new skill. Next time will be a breeze.
