But then later, someone who wants to know what their boat weighs may stumble on this thread and we won't have to go through this again. We can just point to it. But then if that person is a product of the "modern" U.S. education system they have no idea what to do if their bathroom scale doesn't read high enough because their school didn't offer Physics or they flunked it.. I know of one case where a high school graduate did not know how to use a ruler. A group of ten year olds I recently worked with did not know how to extract glue from a glue bottle. And a college student that I gave instruction on how to make change when the cash register failed. We are doomed!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of trying to manage a few 20 something HS grads after I took my pension. I had one on the business end of a tape measure, I asked him "What do you have?" He says " 120 and 2 tickys past the big ticky ticky." I swear on my 90 year old Fathers life. I am in the corner store and 2 teens are waiting in front of me, 14 or so. Johnny asks Billy the time. Billy says "I don't know, I don't have a watch." Johnny tells him there is a clock on the wall, Billy replies "That's an old fashioned clock I can't read that." I swear. They aren't the only ones. My business partner hired someone while I was away for a sales job, he said he was a former contractor. To make a long story less long he tells me he sold a Sunroom, price $4500.00, these things run from $250.00 a square foot and up. How many square feet I ask. "20 square feet." he proudly tell me, " What is it a bathroom?" Nope 8X12. "How do you get 20 sqft for an 8X12 room?" "8+12 is 20. Calculators don't lie Buddy." I didn't last for long after that. We are all most defintleee doomed Silver.
