I use mortis joinery when the need calls for it. But usually when I build cabinets, I love using pocket holes and screws on the face plates. I honestly can't believe how solid a pocket hole joint can get. A little quality glue and two pocket screws and it is there forever. And for typical draw construction, I love finger joints or box joints. It provides lots of glue area and if you want it to be even more solid, drill a 1/8" hole down from the top of the corners and drive in a 1/8" dowel with some glue, and that joint not only looks great, but is not coming apart ever. JMHO!
