Sounds about right.I have a 99 trophy 22 1/2 foot with the 4.3 mercruiser, top speed is only like 32-33 mph, is that normal?
Having said that, what prop are you running and what is your current WOT?Sounds about right.
The boat in that configuration is a bit under powered.
My 22' Islanders does 34 mph with a 3.0 140hp....you need some work...I have a 99 trophy 22 1/2 foot with the 4.3 mercruiser, top speed is only like 32-33 mph, is that normal?
WOT 4800 rpms, not sure what propHaving said that, what prop are you running and what is your current WOT?
Could play games with the prop, but it's give and take, speed verse hole shot
WOT is 4800 rpm’sEven in my 20' I feel the 4.3 is a bit underpowered, in a 22 I think it'd be more so, are you reaching the maximum WOT RPM? If not that should be investigated because a low WOT RPM leads to bad performance and increased engine strain and wear. If it's a 2bbl carb engine about all you can do is switch to a 4bbl intake and carb, even that's not giving a lot but maybe 25 hp.
Comparing pumpkins to apples. My 22' Islanders does 34 mph with a 3.0 140hp....you need some work...
Yes it is, but poster is running about twice the hp ! The Islanders weighs around 2300 lbs plus gear. Still sounds slow for a V6 engine....Isn’t the Islander an alu boat therefore a lot lighter than fiberglass?
Trophy used the 190 Hp , 4.3.Yes it is, but poster is running about twice the hp ! The Islanders weighs around 2300 lbs plus gear. Still sounds slow for a V6 engine....

How would you go about fixing that? I don’t keep the boat in the water, I trailer it1999 bayliner may be water logged. compare the weight to a truck scale
