I have a 98 searay 185 with the mercruiser 4.3. The steering is very very hard to turn to the left, as soon as you let the wheel go it cranks all the way right. Can anyone help
Always need as much info on the issue so folks can help determine the cause.
If pump was replaced because of the issue, then it may be the steering ram. The ram tube has a slot which must be straight up and down. If it is in position then its the ram because the pump has been replaced
If while driving only, look at the position of the zinc anode, if you have one. If no anode, look for something that would force the outdrive to turn, when underway, due to water pressure.
