engine has basically run fine but, this summer it idles rough-stalls, everytime going from neutral to forward or reverse unless you punch it quick seems. to run well at high speed-replaced. plugs both, water sepfiltersheard.. rumor of fuel or oil regulator may need change-any. ideas would be greatly appreciatedthanks.

I had 2 of these motors and they were very reliable, but...the problem you have sounds like the only problem I had. I found out that like all fichts, you absolutly must index the plugs. With a sharpie mark the white porcelon on the side where the spark gap is. Them tighten down the plug so that the gap faces the injector. Don't over or under tighten it. If it winds up in the wrong pace move it to another cylander. You may need a couple extra plugs to get it right. 10 or so degrees off dosen't seem to be too bad, but aim for perfection.
