96 Mercruiser 4.3LX Stalls out

Help....Semi Rookie ....My boat is stalling out after about an hour driving.
I thought it may be fuel related, but refilled and conditioned for ethanol, and
it ran great...till it stalled out....Changed the water separator, changed the
rotor and cap......Thought it may be the fuel pump, electronic, but it runs
good for quite awhile........what can be intermittent once the boat is warm?
Starts good....runs good till stall out.....Can the ignition module be heat
sensitive or the coil??? Next step? Thanks...rick102

boat stalling at idle speed or cruising speed?
does it start right back up immediately or do you have to give it time to cool down?

I have similar issues with my 2001 Mercruiser 4.3 Alpha One. I have owned it 3 years, so I too am pretty new to boating. I have tried similar fixes, but the engine still wants to stall out at cruising speed. I drop it into neutral and all seems fine. When advancing throttle it sometimes wants to stall. Very frustrating. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

Lots of us are having the same problem, and many have been throwing parts at it, and adjustments all over the place. What has seemed to worked for some, is the coil. Check the coil when it stalls, and go from there. Coils are cheap, too.

At first, it would run at low rpms after the initial hesitation issue hits....last
time though, it totally died and did not restart until after cool down....I am
going to check the wiring coupler for any corrosion, then I guess the next
thing is the coil......but people tell me the coil either works or it doesn't, that
it is not heat sensitive......same with the ignition module, so I am thinking
I may have a contact issue...

Contacts look good....changing the coil this week....will let you all know
results....Thanks...rick102
