i just bought a 96 mariner 115 2 stroke and im wondering are mariners good engines and is there any problems with them

I'm happy with mine. The only issues I've ever had have been largely due to human error (mine). Other than that just routine maintenance.

Its a Mercury and the only complain that all have is when the two top carbs come into play as you transition from idle circuit. There is an accelator pump that has to be adjusted correctly or you will have a bog...These motors do not idle like most Merc's because of their design...
