I have a 95 four winns that I have recently found stringers bad, I don't wanna spend the 5k to have it done so I'm going to do it myself. But I have not done this before so I'm just asking for a little guidance on where to start at

I'll upload some pics tonight. Just wondering where to start, on removing the stringers, do I cut he top of the fiberbglass off and put the stringer out like that or do I cut the fiberglass at the hull and just remove the whole thing? And can you just replace the bad section of stringer or do I have to replace the entire stringer

On the traditional designed boats you cut the cockpit sole to expose the stringers and bulkheads. whatever you do, do not cut the hull . . . that would be bad.

On the newer design (2-piece, clam shell) boats, it is a different story. that's why some detail and perspective pictures will help us see what type of boat design/construction you have and any obvious signs of deterioration.

Take a look at the many threads on here and you will see the steps that others in your situation have gone through. . . most are of the older 'traditional' design where the cockpit sole runs right to the hull side. there have not been too many of the newer 2-piece 'clam shell' design.

Since your boat is a 1995, it may be either design, so it is best to know which one it is first.
