I'm hoping that someone here might be able to help me out. I just got done rebuilding my motor and I have a few minor things left to address before I fire it up for the first time. The question I have is does anyone know how the linkage for the shift interrupt switch actually engages the switch it looks pretty simple but I don't know if I'm overlooking something. I have everything back together and for some reason when I move the linkage in and out of gear it doesn't even come close to engaging the switch. I verified that the switch does work and it's not sticking at all. I have searched for pictures or videos and all I can find looks just like what I have and my Johnson manual doesn't cover anything on it in detail. So if someone has any information on how it actually works or if it can be adjusted I would appreciate the help.
