Does anyone have any suggestions as to the removal of the bearing cage from a 93 Force 40 hp lower unit? The bottom ear of the bearing cage is broken but it has two threaded holes on each side.

the two threaded holes are for a puller. You can make one with a piece of 1 inch wide flat metal long enough to go about an inch past the holes cut some all thread rod about an inch longer than the prop shaft, drill 2 holes in the flat metal for the all thread the same width as the holes and screw nuts on top of the metal and tighten it will pull the cage off(let metal lay on end of prop shaft) or you can use a thin wide blade screw driver or like tool and tap it into slot on each side and very carefully pry it out,I prefer the puller
