Just a few questions about this engine
1992 Evinrude 25hp (e25elens)

This hole in the side of the lower unit, I'm guessing this is normal?
After running the engine in a trash can I noticed dripping water, what is this for?
(I drained the lower end gear oil and it had zero water in it, no metal specs either)

Also it looks like the primer system has had some custom modifications done to it. I ordered a new primer rebuilt kit since fuel is leaking past the Schrader valve and I was planning on putting the primer lines back to their original configuration. One of the two lines coming out of the bottom of the primer is cut and blocked off, the other line has a splitter on it and splits into two separate lines (See below pics)

Are these the correct locations for these primer lines? I'm guessing yes but not sure since someone has been in here messing with things

The engine runs and shifts good otherwise, just trying to get everything back to 100% before heading out on the lake. The closest lake is about 30 min away and this pontoon is new to me, just trying to avoid any protentional issues. Thanks!

That hole is put there to drain water out of a cavity.-----If this motor is a new aquasition , you should install a new water pump impeller.

Anyone with info on the primer lines?
Is the splitter stock?

If it is stock, then I’m assuming the cut primer line should be reconnected somewhere else on the block or carb?

The tee is shown on the parts diagram.----Diagram shows one outlet from primer valve to be capped.----Perhaps the primer valve was replaced and someone was confused by the simplicity of this valve!

Thanks again racerone!

I have yet to find the right diagrams or microfiche for this engine. I was hoping to find some once the top secret sticky thread links are restored.
