Okay here's the setup

1992 15'2 scout cc
1992 60hp 3cyl evinrude (e60tlene)

I have trim stop bolt in the #2 slot and the motor mounted on the 2nd from top hole straight to te transom. The anti vent plate had a "whale tail" on it I removed it. It has the 4 holes in it still from the bolts. But at max trim down the vent plate falls 1" above the bottom of the boat it runs great and gets up to high end rpms. 5400-6000 easily. I have a 13x19 ss prop

Say I'm at nearly wot on a plane the nose seems to dip just slightly... Not bad or scary if I pin it I still gain rpms and slight speed. Max speed in the boat is bout 31-33 on GPS. I can see some water being pushed through the 4 bolt holes where the whale tail used to be.

Sorry if this is hard to read, Id like to fix it and find out i my prop is even right for the boat, sorry just not the best at typing.

Not sure what you want to fix. If it's the holes in the anti-vent plate, put some masking tape on the bottom of the holes. Fill the holes with JB weld or epoxy. Sand smooth and paint if you wish. RPMs appear fine with the prop you have provided the tach is reading correctly. Verify it with a shop tach.

Thanks ya that is what I will do with the holes. My main concern is that I'm getting the most mph and best ride as possible. And is this the prop for a 15 foot boat? 60hp 31-33mph at 6000. And thanks alot

Find out what the rated rpm is for that motor so you know for sure. I doubt you want to go any higher on rpms and maybe a bit high at 6,000 but check the specs. I've got a Javelin set up that will over-rev slightly with one person in it on calm water but falls in range with more of a load in the boat. This keeps it from bogging down when it's loaded and still gives good performance. If I wanted the max speed with one person I would go with a higher pitch prop but then it would struggle some with a load. I'm curious why you removed the fin? I've found them helpful for take-off and they help prevent porpoising. If you have prop questions I found Power Tech to be a great prop company. but it sounds like you are close if you're hitting those rpm's with an empty boat. Just dont run it over max rpm. If you can't stand to leave some throttle on the table with light loads then a prop shop could probably add some cup to you're prop to slow the motor down and gain a slight speed.

32mph at 6000rpm with a 19" pitch prop means 28% slippage. A SST prop should reach 10% or less.

I have a 15' open cabin boat (maybe heavier than yours) with a 1989 60hp and a AL 15" pitch prop making 30mph (GPS) at 5500rpm. Just for reference.

Sounds like you are getting most speed for hp and size of boat. My 15 ft tri hull w/70ho does 35 at 5500rpm.
