There is an exciter and 3 pulsers on the plate. I would test them.
You want a harmonic balancer puller to get the flywheel off.

You've ordered the whole Coil Plate Assy. Will need a flywheel puller to pop out the flywheel. When assembling back don't forget to install the large key inside the upper crankshaft's dent and match the flywheel's internal dent to it. Torque nut to specs. If the Coil Plate Assy it's the culprit the motor must regain the lost power. Fingers crossed!!

Update, got new magnito plate today and the new one is about and 1/8" bigger than old one, all the wires the same, everything hooks up the same and flywheel won't go on. Is there something I am missing, anyway to adjust the plate to fit my flywheel. HELP!!!!

Post a pic of both plates side to side to compare, by bigger you mean has more circumference, it's taller ?

Yes circumference is bigger, about an 1/8 of an inch, flywheel will not go down over it. I guess I got to send it back and try again.

Depending on serial, you may have ordered the wrong part.

Mine is a 2000 and from 94-04 is supposed to work. But you know how that is. I ordered a new one today, so we will see.

It depends on your serial number, regardless of year of manufacture.

Well second coil plate was too big as well. Not sure what the heck to do. My motor is a NS90A.

What is the serial number for your motor? Not to be confused with the model number.

Matt, I just went out and looked on right side of motor, the reddish looking plate has 3B7-1 19588 That is all I can find for serial number. I just ordered from Tohotsu us part number 3B7061602M it was $348. I hope this is the correct one. This has sure been a mess. I got second coil plate back in the box and ready to send back.

Update, just talked to Tohatsu and the an their said this motor is a '93. He said the part number I ordered was the brain box. He seems to think it's still a carburetor issue. Now to cancel that part and start over.

Year is irrelevant. Tohatsu does not sell to consumers; you need to order from a dealer.
Serial 19588 is the early type; you would also need a new flywheel if you want to replace the coil plate.

3B7061033M
COIL PLATE ASSY- S/N 20995 & ABOVE
$511.03
/*will only work with newer flywheel # F4T421*/

Thanks pvanv I was wondering if I needed another flywheel for the coil plates I had. I put everything back together with old parts and fired it back up. Tohatsu guy said it might be a sensor, but more than likely still carb issue. He said with it running spray WD40 in each carb and if they pick up the carb is stopped up, if it dies down the carb is good. You ever done that? Thanks for the help guys.

He's basically telling you he thinks it's not getting enough fuel because the carburetor is clogged up, and you can test the theory by opening the throttle and adding some fuel manually. In this case he suggested WD-40, which is flammable. Any flammable spray would work; carburetor cleaner, starting fluid... Tapping the choke would give a similar result if it's not entirely clogged up, shooting a little gas in using a squeeze bottle would also work, just be careful not to start a fire.

It does seem to be a fuel issue since bumping the choke helps it. I think I will put muffs on it and spray each carb with cleaner and if it picks up I will clean that carb again.

Update, mechanic said he may have found a coil plate and box. Good thing cause I cranked it today and it doesn't want to idle. Pull the fast idle up and it runs, put it down about halfway and it dies. SMH
