I have a 1990 force 90hp outboard. In the manual it says to set the timing with the plugs out and align it to 32btdc. Maximum dynamic is 30. On the flywheel I don't have any numbers all I have is a total of 4 marks. First mark short in length, second mark is about a 1/2 inch from first and is longer. Third mark is about a 1/2 inch also and is the same length as first mark. Then you go about 3 inches and you have another mark. How the heck am I supposed to figure out where 32 is static timing setting and dynamic setting of 30 and I understand some people are saying set it to 28 instead of 30. Can anyone please explain how to read these marks?
