90 Force 90 HP....water pump?

My dad gave me his 1990 17’ Spectrum boat that has a 90hp Force hanging on it. I got it started over the weekend and the water pump wasn’t working so I replaced the impeller, which was in pieces, and I still feel like there isn’t enough water coming out the back. I’d describe it as “spiting” rather than a full stream. What should my expectation be? See attached.

That is not the hole where the water comes out from the cooling system...

You should take the engine cover off and there should be another hole where the water should come out...

As you can see here:

Sometimes there got something stuck inside the rubber hose.

clattin, your video link is broken, at least for me.

I haven't seen a 1990-1992 Force with a traditional telltale water stream like the one shown in ninny's video.

This is what you should be seeing.:

The water dribbles or splatters out of the exhaust relief holes on the back of the midsection.

Most of the water should be exiting by the prop.
You can add a traditional telltale if you like.

You posted the exact same video I was trying to post. Mine is definitely much more of a sputter than the stream that's on the video.

Thanks again!

You guys are right 2 completely different motors and cooling systems.
The older: most of the cooling water exit's through the snout on the bottom of the cavitation plate.
The newer: water exits through the prop and a couple other places.

IF??? the hose supplies a lot of water and it doesn't flow out the side of the muffs and it doesn't seem like it's enough?? Remove the thermo housing and see how much water flows there?
The pieces of the missing impeller can be stuck in the thermo housing causing slow flow???
