'90 Evinrude 150 lower unit oil

I've searched online and all oil that's bad is said to be milky... What about an Olive color and stinks....?

that usally indicates that it is old and burnt. i change mine about once a year when i winterize my motor for storage. when it is milky usally indicates that it has water in it.
