Ahh crap. I just realized i forgot to hook that little clip up at the ignition on the boat console. I was in such a hurry to finally see this thing run right that I forgot to hook that up! I'll run back down to the lake this evening and test it again. I can't believe after a month and countless hours of working on this thing, the jet was wrong... I could strangle whomever rebuilt that carb and put the wrong jet in there! Tim, thank you so much for suggesting to check that.

Start with the simple stuff.

#1 - make sure the kill switch clip has not been snagged and dislodged. (it's happened to me a few times)

Or removed intentionally....

IT'S FIXED!!!!! 5600 RPM in forward with full throttle. Plenty of power in reverse too. I took it for spin around the lake and it pushes my 24' pontoon just fine.

Tim, thank you again for the suggestion to check the high speed jet. That was the problem and now it's fixed. After all this time I can't believe it. WooHoo!

Bet he can now have that carb off, dismantled, reassembled and back on in less than 1/2 hour!

yeah, by that 4th time there's no wasted motion or thought...maybe a couple of expletives...but that's par for the course
