I have a '85 merc 9.9 with a broken choke/idle knob.

I have disconnected everything I can get at to remove the assebly (ity sits on the front of the carb)but there is one bolt under (between bottom of carb and housing) that i can't get at.
It appears that I need to remove the entire carb assembly. If so do I need to worry about replacing the one gasket I'll have to undo - (carb body to intake).
Am I missing something?
I HAD but have missplaced my repair manual so some help , (maybe pics of appropriate pages from a manual) really appreciated.

Re: 9.9 carb repair

If I were you I'd get a new carb kit from any reputable outlet and then take the carb off from the power head. The gasket will be supplied with the kit and all the other accesories
