Great forum! great advise! First-time user.
I've been trying to get both 12v & 24v from OMC 12/24 TM with no success. 1 set of cables to each battery. Tried the 12/24 foot control toggle, tried the Run/Charge toggle but only had 12v. Seemed like I was only drawing the load from 1 battery. Looked for a jumper in the TM plug but there is none. Took the 4 wire system and ran the 2 (+) leads to one battery and the 2 (-) leads to the other and ran a 6 ga, jumper. Now I only have 24v only. Tried all the switches but still only 24v. Ran the motor dry briefly and while there is a variation in the 3 speeds, they all seem very fast, almost too powerful. Couple questions; should I only run 1 set of cables to each battery and bug the other 2 off? Will the current arrangement damage my ol' OMC TM? Is there a chance that theres a jumper either in the foot control 12/24 switch or the TM plug recepticle?
