89 model 70hp vro question

My brother in law recently purchased a 70hp with the vro pump on it. My question is can it be disconnected? If so how or where does a regular fuel pump go?

You can disconnect the alarms, plug the oil line and run premix in the tank as long as the pump is functional. Alternatively you can fit a premix pump.
