89 johnson 140 vro what setting on tach

I got a tach from another johnson we had on the back of it it only has settings of 5 and 6 pul will this work on my 89 johnson 140 and if so which on should i pick?

6 or 6p deoends on tachometer. Most tachometers have the model or at least manufacturer printed on the edge of the face inside the lens in very small print.
