Hey guys i have a 1989 evinrude 30 E30ELCED CD2UL and have had problems with the S.L.O.W kicking in and horn beeping a constant beep so have decided to change the thermostat as i think it may be overheating (tell tale stream is good).I thought i might change the temp sender as well but i have hit a snag, cannot see how it is removed.I have taken off the water jacket/thermostat cover (14 bolts and i broke one in the head) removed a very old+salty thermostat, pulled back the rubber insert along the tan wire and can see the sender fairly deep in its blind hole but no hex for a socket or spanner or slot or circlip to undo or pull out, it seems to be pressed in or inserted with adhesive into to its own little machined housing on the side of the head.I was hoping one of you guys had an idea on how to get this little sucker out or how to test if it is working correctly would be better so i can leave it in.
thanks heaps!
