Yes that is exactly what happened. I did check all of the bearings. This is the only one that got turned. The front main was really worn and had started eating into the crank a little. I have to take it to a machine shop and am going to have them look at everything for me.
I did read on another thread somewhere about the Quicksilver gaskets being made especially for these motors. I know with a cast head and aluminum black they expand and contract differently.
I saw an overhaul kit on ebay, would that be a good idea to buy? My concern is that they may be cheap material on those kits rather than getting them though iboats or other reputable places. Has anyone bought one of those kits? Were they any good?
