'87 Force 125 3-5 min delay going to plane

I have a pretty clean Force 125 that runs like a scalded dog when she get's my 18 foot Capri up to speed. Problem is that when I throttle up she'll pick up a bit and then set there for as much as 5 or 10 mins then suddenly she'll begin picking up gradually until she suddenly revs fully and takes off. If I slow back to 2 or 3 mph, I have to go through the same thing again. Once in a great while, she'll jump right onto plane. Any thoughts? Thanks! John

What prop do you have on this engine? Is it cupped? Too much pitch will cause this problem as the engine lacks the torque for the given pitch.

What is your WOT rpm and speed?
