87 evinrude vro 120 blowing fuses

took battery out to charge and clean connections and terminals put back in now every time crank fuse blows!help please

Remove the negative battery terminal from the engine block and clean it-thoroughly.

did that still doing the same thing only blows fuse after trying to crank. Cranks once maybe twice thin blows. How do i check the starter solenoid or should i be looking in the control box

theres a short somewhere then look for frayed wires in the ignition switch circuit

u were exactly right my partner had an extra switch that i installed and presto fired right up!
