i got the boat out and running good today, i fixed all my engine woes. i ran it for about 15 minutes and out of no where i heard a bang and it started grinding in forward, im still engaged but it sounds like the gear let loose. in nuetral its fine and itll run in reverse no grinding whatsoever. what could this be? how much am i looking at? im positive its fully engaged, but its definitely making some bad noises.

Sounds like the clutch let loose for a moment and perhaps screwed the fwd and pinion gear. Pull the drain plug at the bottom, look for chunks of metal and or grey looking gear oil. Look for any bulges around the top of the water intakes (where the pinion sits). If you screwed the gears, then you need an entire set of new gears and they need to be shimmed to ensure longevity.
