just got it running. several small problems though. motor will not go into gear at anything over a very low idle and today at full throttle engine surged and jumped out of gear several times. i think it may be the clutch spring. i took the two screws behind the prop off and cleaned everything(looked good to me) and changed the gear lube about two weeks ago.
also, i rebuilt the fuel pump(it is rebuildable p/n 0393088) and it pumps gas when i pull the cord but the engine seems to be running out of fuel when i run the motor at full throttle for long periods of time. it starts dieing out but if i pump the primer it runs fine for a few more minutes. runs fine at low to mid throttle. fuel line is new and there is about 3 gallons of 50-1 in my 6 gallon tank. i cleaned out the needle and seat.
engine is also hard to start.
compression and spark are good. new points(gapped .02) and condencers.
running godd otherwise and will get me on plane in my 12' semi-v. thanks in advance. motor is a j4brhcde.
