wanted a tower could not see my self spending 600 bucks for a bar and strap so i built my own.

i have 60 bux into it! pipe is 1.75 od will be adding more to it when i got time and xtra money.

How is that attached to the floor? That's my concern sinc eth tie down aren't at the same point creating a moment on the assembly. You could attach the bottom of the ople to the floor and attach the vertical pieces to the side of the interior and then add two bars from the top cross piece to the top of the hull abou tin the middle of the bow seating area.

there is 2 2x4 18 inches long on each side stacked on top of each other with a 1.75 hole on the top for it to sit on. very stable. more stable than than the kits i've seen on line. i'll post vids on monday of it being used. the kits on line have 6-8 inch plate on the bottom the bolts to the floor with a single strap.

Nothin wrong with home made!!

This is our 100$ tower we built for my buddy's 89 galaxy. We went with reinforcing the glass & bolting it down perminant (on rubber of coarse)

We thought 600+ was crazy too!

Nothing wrong with home made if it is built right. Couple questions for you though. What is the thickness of the material you used?
What did you weld that with - the welds appear to have zero penetration (sitting on top the material).

im not ssure on the thickness its 1.5 emt tubing. it has an od of 1.75 im guessing its 1/8th or thicker. as for the weld it was with a wire welder i ran out of wire. the tow ball and cable mount are one peice i cut a hole and slid it through the tube so no worries there. im going to mod it a little more i wanna triangleate the tower a little bit pickin up a tube bender today after work. pulled me father in law around the lake no problem and he 6 foot 259 lbs.

I sure hope it isn't actually EMT conduit. That stuff is not engineered or rated to carry any sort of a load.

SAFETY should always be the first concern! I thought the same thing when I saw it as far as the welds and the material used. Just because you can do it and save some money doesn't mean it is safe. I have seen way to many people get hurt and boats damaged because of it.

I do like yours "chevyIIsmitz". That looke pretty stout and custom and I also like the large mounting brackets.
